New Pilots

Welcome to Gerald Plotts, our latest pilot.   Gerlad has a big affinity for flying the mery machines as they are so affectionately known by the people who fly them, the helo's.   Welcome Gerald, hope you will find your stay with us a good one .

YSSY and KORD Hubs

KORD Hub will have very close relations with the YSSY hub.   One of the current incentives is for a regular group flight every week on Saturday afternoons/evening (depending on where in the world you are).   We will join the guys and at YSSY and also invite them to join us on online flights.   Keep watching your inboxes and the forums for details!

PROMOTIONS

Our latest pilot, Gerald Plotts has been promoted to Captain on helicopters.   This is a particularly memorable event as we have not yet had a helo Skipper on the hub.   Congratulations Gerald!

PILOT ENVOLVEMENT

For those of you who don't know yet, Mark Caspers is a real world commercial pilot.   He has been doing some awesome work with designing a logbook, flight manifest and is also working on another project which will be available soon.   Great work Mark, and thanks very much for it - we all appreciate it and benefit from your real world flight experience!   His products are available on the forum for download in the Hangar.

CYBER AIR ORD CHARTER

Cyber Air's ORD charter flights was suspended for a while, but Mark Caspers who has real flight expericence with chartering is doing some work to help us set up a proper and realistic charter division - expect more details soon!

P.S. Mark has some health problems so this has now been postponed indefinately - please watch this space for further developements.

DART/SAR/Fleet Support

The DART division is back in the very capable hands of one of our most senior members, a man who really needs no introduction and has give so much to the VA, Mike Bell.  Please check the Cyber Air YSSY hub and also the forum on a frequent basis to make sure that you stay up to date concerning this wonderful division of our VA.

Online Flight Group - Sunday, 09 May 2010 at 15H00 UTC

We have had to suspend the online flights for two weeks to give Mike Goggans time to deal with some personal issues, but expect a new flight very soon - keep watching this space and the forum for more information!

 New Aircraft Alert

We have more new repaints available in the hangar - have a look at the 60's look for the 747SP as well as a new repaint for our 707, also available in the hangar under the Vintage Aircraft section.   Enjoy!

Fleet Support

We have a new forum on the bulletin board named Fleet Support. Mike Bell has been assigned the position of Director of Fleet Support and is supported by Werner Gillespie the asst director of Fleet Support/DART/SAR and will be bringing this up for the needed maintenance of our aircraft and the creation of the flights to fly the aircraft needing maintenance. A new Hub page for Fleet Support is online now.

Our Fleet Support division is back in Mike Bell's hands - any pilot who experiences any technical difficulties should give him a shout and CA will dispatch a technical flight to wherever you are in the world to make sure you get back in the air .

Any Pilot may request Fleet Support from any airport at which the aircraft you are flying develops a problem and can't continue in service without some maintenance or repair. These things can be what actually happened in your game or a fictious event just to generate interest such as

  • a heavy landing
  • aircraft fire
  • collision
  • run off runway
